This is an absolutely adorable addition to any children’s or classroom bookshelf and is a genius idea for introducing different perspectives and other people’s points of view with youngsters.
A split book that has one story on one side and when flipped, reveals a different story. My Daddy is a Monster tells of a series of daily, common events from a child’s point of view showing the father as the monster (bad guy) in the situations. My kids are Monsters tells the same story but from the poor dad’s point of view and his feelings. I also love the added bonus of the monstrometer to find on each page too.
Such a great book to explore the emotions of others and to support early development of perspectives. The use of very familiar everyday situations really brings an element of relatability to the events and will generate some excellent discussion and thinking.
“Good fun for families”
"This book is unique in that it takes the old adage, 'there are two sides to every story' and humorously illustrates that concept for young children. The first part of this book, "My Mummy is a Monster" is told from the point of view of a young girl who recounts all the monstrous ways of her mother.
Kids will be delighted as they recognize all the horrible things this monster mom does to her children that their own mother probably does to them. Caregivers reading the story with their children will enjoy the feeling of having been through these exact experiences in their own lives."
"There will be a number of books which would never have happened without the Covid 19 pandemic, but the world would be a poorer place without this one.
Told in highly entertaining rhyme, it educates children in the necessary precautions to take to prevent the spread of any disease, not just the current one and so should be on the shelves of every primary school and every child's bedroom. A beautifully written, delightfully illustrated, timely
and necessary book."
Congratulations to Team Author UK on producing THE definitive account of life during lockdown, as seen through the eyes of indie writers, poets and illustrators.

This poignant work captures the highs and lows of the ‘Corona-coaster’ we’ve all ridden - from the quiet despair of being separated from loved ones to the humble pleasures of baking and puzzles!
"A good read on a cold night. Natalie's story is especially suitable for Christmas. Definitely authors to look out for."
Nat, 38, says it was so frustrating she almost burst into tears.

When she got off the phone she tried to make a complaint over live chat but was sitting there for 40 minutes with no response.
